Killorglin Tidy Towns is a proud supporter of the KFest music and arts festival, which took place over the June Bank Holiday weekend in Killorglin. Thanks and well done to everyone involved in the festival - it really was a fantastic collective effort by community groups, businesses and artists of all kinds.

Niamh and Mike executed an audacious plan to have artists show their work in old buildings such as PT OSullivans (pictured). We got a chance to see our built environment in a new light, as old shops and homes were revitalised to host fantastic exhibitions. The results were spectacular.

The town came alive with gigs, movies, art and drama for the whole weekend - a fantastic celebration of creativity in Killorglin.

Special thanks to everyone who volunteered and gave their support. Ni neart go chur le cheile!

Composting Tips

The community composter at the Seanscoil is starting to fill up nicely. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!

Fruit and veg waste is perfect for composting; we add leaves and garden trimmings to the Composter to help keep the mix balanced.

However, contributors are asked to be careful with fruit - too many orange skins could make the compost mix a bit acidic, and if we have lots of sweet fruity stuff in the composter it could attract fruit flies.
